Japan National Tourism Organization

The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) was founded in 1964 with the mission of encouraging international travelers to visit Japan. Affiliated with the Japan Tourism Agency of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, JNTO has effectively functioned as the Japanese government bureau of tourism. JNTO has a total of 22 tourism-promotion-oriented offices across the world, and a large network of suppliers for tourism and event services in Japan. The Japan Convention Bureau (JCB), within JNTO, gathers professionals dedicated to attracting international conferences and incentive tours to Japan, located in 6 strategic offices.

Free advice and information on meetings,
incentives and events in Japan

The Japan Convention Bureau (JNTO) is an impartial, government-sponsored organization which gives free and neutral advice and assistance to meeting and event planners, including (but not limited to):

  • Introductions to local suppliers

  • Aid in communication with local destinations’ convention bureaus, and association congress host committees

  • Suggestions on the most appropriate venues for meetings or events

  • Advice on ideas for developing social programmes or incentive itineraries

  • Assistance with site inspections

  • Information of local government subsidies for meetings

  • Promotional materials, such as brochures, videos, images or other resources
