Nagoya Castle, Honmaru Palace, Kujakunoma

Construction of the castle began in 1610 by order of Tokugawa Ieyasu as the residence of the first Owari feudal lord Yoshinao. Although it was destroyed by fire in May 1945 due to war damage, the five-story main keep and small castle tower were rebuilt in 1959. The Nagoya Castle Honmaru Goten was completed and opened to the public on June 8, 2018. (The castle keep is currently closed to visitors.)
