- Etchu Owara/Kokiriko
Toyama is home to traditional culture and local performing arts, such as Owara from Etchu -Yatsuo, famous for the Kaze-no-Bon Festival, and Kokiriko-bushi and Mugiya-bushi folk songs from Gokayama, a World Heritage site. TCB provides subsidies for presenting these traditional performing arts at receptions and other events. Thanks to its high-quality and abundant water resources, stable and inexpensive electricity, and good access to transportation, Toyama has a concentration of electronic device industries such as semiconductors, flat panel displays, electronic components, and electronic materials. The pharmaceutical industry is also well developed, and the value of pharmaceutical production is among the highest in Japan. - Toyama Bay Sushi
Toyama Bay Sushi is made with freshly caught seafood from Toyama Bay, known as a “natural fish tank.” 10 different types of seasonal sushi are available at any time of the year at reasonable prices.
