Kokura Castle Japanese Garden
City: Kitakyushu
This is the restored daimyo villa of the Ogasawara family, who succeeded the Hosokawa family that built Kokura Castle. It recreates a daimyo garden and the typical “shoin-style” of samurai residences in what was once the Ogasawara’s second home. The Japanese garden offers the most picturesque view of Kokura Castle. You can even dine on kaiseki cuisine and other dishes while enjoying attractions such as a laser show illuminating the garden.
