KOBE KITANO IJINKAN Former Rein House is the former residence of a foreigner who was captivated by the beauty of the Kitano area. This building is one of the oldest IJINKAN (western-style residences) in the neighborhood and was previously closed to the public. You can feel the different cultures come together at this venue as whitewashed walls and octagonal opera seats are distinctly Victorian, but the roof tiles and other touches of traditional Japanese architecture add a nostalgic oriental flavor.
