Matsuyama

Known as the "City of Hot Springs, Castles, and Literature," Matsuyama is home to the historical Dogo Onsen, Japan's oldest hot spring; Matsuyama Castle, one of Japan's 12 original castles in Japan; and was the inspiration for literary figures Masaoka Shiki, the founder of modern-day haiku, and Natsume Soseki, the author of Botchan. The city center features conference facilities, accommodations, and tourist attractions, all accessible by a tram system for efficient, comfortable conventions. We offer various post-convention programs, such as the Shimanami Kaido, a series of bridges offering views of beautiful islands, and Uchiko and Ozu, towns with their preserved historical streetscapes, each just about an hour away. As a city that lives and breathes hospitality for all visitors, including the ohenro pilgrims, Matsuyama looks forward to hosting your next convention.
