Himeji

Located in the southwestern part of Hyogo Prefecture, Himeji City has long flourished as a major transportation hub and is rich in nature, surrounded by the Chugoku Mountains to the north and the Seto Inland Sea to the south. The area around the castle and station is dotted with tourist facilities, lodging, restaurants, and souvenir stores, making it an international tourist city that attracts many visitors from Japan and abroad. In September 2021, Arcrea HIMEJI, a large-scale MICE complex equipped with three culture halls (Grand, Medium, and Small), a 4,000m² exhibition hall and 10 meeting rooms, opened in Himeji City to accommodate a variety of conventions, academic conferences, and business conventions. The bureau will fully support the holding of conventions in Himeji City, where history, culture, and cutting-edge technology coexist in harmony.

Shoshazan Engyoji Temple
This extraordinary head temple of Tendai Buddhism was opened in 966 by Shoku Shonin and is also referred to as the “Mt. Hiei of the West.” It is the 27th stop of the 33-temple Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage. The verdant, quiet temple grounds have become a hot spot in recent years after serving as a filming location for long-running historical dramas and Hollywood movies.
