1. Financial Assistance for Conventions
● Subsidy Program
<Yokohama Large-Scale International Convention Promotion Subsidy>
The municipal government provides subsidies of 2-10 million yen for international conferences held within Yokohama city limits. International conferences with at least 5,000 registrants (and at least 2,000 foreign registrants) are eligible for a 10 million-yen subsidy. To qualify, international conference organizers must involve the municipal government from the promotion stage with the issuance of an invitation letter by the mayor, and has not hold their event in Yokohama for the past 5 years from April 1 of the fiscal year of the scheduled opening of the relevant convention. YCVB reviews the nature, size and other aspects of events to determine eligibility and subsidy amounts.
<Yokohama MICE Support Plan>
YCVB provides convention bags, attractions, assistance with conference equipment fees, and support via multiple options according to the size and duration of MICE held at conference facilities, hotels, exhibition areas and other venues in Yokohama. Note that organizers of eligible events must use Yokohama vendors. Please contact YCVB about conditions and options for support, as they vary from year to year.
