1. Financial Assistance for Conventions
Subsidy Program
* Please inquire about the requirements and details for each subsidy.
(i) Prefectural subsidy for organizing/hosting large-scale MICE
Target: National conventions and events with at least 100 hotel-room nights by nonresidents of Aomori Prefecture
Amount: Up to 3 million yen for event expenses according to the number of hotel-room nights
(ii) Municipal subsidy for organizing/hosting conventions
Target: National conventions and events with at least 50 hotel-room nights by nonresidents of Aomori Prefecture
Amount: Up to 200,000 yen for event expenses according to the number of hotel-room nights
(iii) Municipal subsidy for organizing/hosting MICE
Target: Training/incentive tours with at least 10 hotel-room nights by nonresidents of Aomori Prefecture, hosted by companies based outside the prefecture
Amount: Up to 150,000 yen for event expenses according to the number of hotel-room nights
2. Other Support Services
•Assisting with convention planning
•PR for conventions
•Providing tourism information
•Introducing companies involved in conventions
•Providing free tourism pamphlets
•Displaying welcome signage free of charge
•Displaying welcome posters free of charge
•Providing convention bags (extra fee)
•Providing free rentals of mini nebuta floats (organizers are asked to pay transportation costs)
•Providing free rentals of various goods
•Introducing and arranging attractions (Nebuta Festival music accompaniment, Tsugaru-jamisen performances)
•Organizing exhibits of souvenirs and other products

Nebuta Museum Wa Rasse

Apple-picking

  • Nebuta Museum Wa Rasse
    In a hall displaying the nebuta floats that appear in the Aomori Nebuta Festival, visitors can try playing the instruments and wearing the haneto costumes, or they can try making the Japanese paper that is glued to the actual nebuta floats.
  • Apple-Picking
    From August to November, visitors can pick apples in an orchard just 30 minutes by car from downtown Aomori. Cherries, peaches and other fruit are ready for harvest in different seasons.
  • Aomori City Walks
    Volunteer guides introduce visitors to places of scenic and historic significance, local specialties, and well-known shops as well as hidden charms unfamiliar even to locals.
