Pre-/Post-Convention Programs

Toyama pharmaceuticals

Etchu Owara dancing

  • Technical tours take visitors through Toyama’s distinct history of traditional technology and manufacturing. Toyama is home to a cluster of pharmaceutical and medicinal drug production plants and affiliated businesses, and its history as a pharmaceutical town dates back 300 years. The city has also served as a hub for manufacturing since long ago, and hosts the Sea of Japan coast’s largest collection of companies in the machining industry and the business of aluminum and other metals.
  • Local preservation societies and other groups have worked over the years to preserve Toyama’s many local and traditional performing arts on display in the Etchu Owara-bushi and Kokiriko-bushi festivals and other events. TCB provides assistance for unveiling these traditional, local performing arts to convention visitors at receptions and other events.
