1. Financial Assistance for Conventions
● Subsidy Program
<Yokohama Large-Scale International Convention Promotion Subsidy>
The municipal government provides subsidies of 2-10 million yen for international conferences held within Yokohama city limits. International conferences with at least 5,000 registrants (and at least 2,000 foreign registrants) are eligible for a 10 million-yen subsidy. To qualify, international conference organizers must involve the municipal government from the promotion stage, and must be hosting their event in Yokohama for the first time. YCVB reviews the nature, size and other aspects of events to determine eligibility and subsidy amounts.
<Yokohama MICE Support Plan>
YCVB provides convention bags, attractions, assistance with conference equipment fees, and support via multiple options according to the size and duration of MICE held at conference facilities, hotels, exhibition areas and other venues in Yokohama. Note that organizers of eligible events must use Yokohama vendors. Please contact YCVB about conditions and options for support, as they vary from year to year.
2. Other Support Services
● Providing Yokohama tourism maps, visitors’ guides and other introductory information about Yokohama (Languages: English, simplified Chinese, traditional Chinese, Korean, Thai)
● Preparing written proposals for potential venues: YCVB proposes and helps prepare written proposals and presentations for promoting international conferences.
● Introducing conference and party venues, and PCOs, travel agents and other companies involved in MICE.
● Paying part of the expenses for reception for preliminary visits by conference organizers who live outside Japan.

  • Yokohama Chinatown Lion Dances
