2023.03.30 The World Physiotherapy Congress is coming to Tokyo in 2025

The World Physiotherapy board has announced its decision to hold the 2025 World Physiotherapy Congress in Tokyo, Japan.

Since the decision to relocate the 2023 World Physiotherapy Congress as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Japan National Tourist Organization (JNTO) has been working in coordination with the Japanese Physical Therapy Association (JPTA) and some other stake holders including Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau (TCVB) to bring the World Physiotherapy Congress to Japan as originally planned. As part of these efforts, JNTO spoke directly with key individuals from World Physiotherapy about the possibility of holding the event in Japan when they met together at the Japan booth at IMEX Frankfurt in May 2022.

To make a decision on holding the Congress in 2025, representatives of World Physiotherapy needed to make a site-visit tour to Japan.
JNTO happily coordinated a visit for them with cooperation of candidate city convention bureaus including Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau at the end of August 2022.

The decision to bring the 2025 event back to Japan represents the fruition of efforts to remain in close contact with all related parties and provide ongoing support to make sure this opportunity was not missed. JNTO will continue to provide support in the run up to the 2025 World Physiotherapy Congress.
