2022.12.06 The 8th World Congress of the International Society for Fertility Preservation to be held in Tokyo in 2024!
The 7th World Congress of the International Society for Fertility Preservation was held in Brussels, Belgium on November 10 – 12, 2022. Traveling to Brussels to attend the Congress was Prof. Nao Suzuki of St. Marianna University School of Medicine (Ob/Gyn), who also serves as the board member of ISFP (International Society for Fertility Preservation) and the President of the Japan Society for Fertility Preservation. Prof. Suzuki nominated himself, and was selected as ISFP President (January 2023 – December 2024) and the Chairman of the 8th World Congress.
Prior to this congress, Prof. Suzuki participated in ISFP’s Board meeting as an Asian representative. In a bit to host the first ISFP Congress in Japan, he launched a campaign to be selected as ISFP President and lobbied actively to encourage participation of the Japan Society for Fertility Preservation and Asian Society for Fertility Preservation in the 6th World Congress, held in New York in 2019. These long-term efforts have led to his successful selection as the first Asian President at the Brussels Congress, and appointment as the President of ISFP’s 8th World Congress.
In the latest campaign to bring the congress to Tokyo, Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) supported Prof. Suzuki along with Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau, as part of Team Japan.
ISFP’s World Congress is an international conference, held once every other year, under academic chairmanship of the person appointed by the ISFP President. The campaign has been successful, with the congress to be held in Japan for the first time in 2024.
The 8th World Congress of the International Society for Fertility Preservation is to be held on November 15 – 17, 2024, and is expecting 600 participants including 400 from overseas. We look forward to seeing you in Tokyo!
