2018.08.03 Connecting the Dots: JNTO organizes Japan Incentive Travel Seminars in Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok

On July 17 and 19, JNTO hosted an incentive-oriented seminar in Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok, respectively, in response to the growing demand of this market. During the event, JNTO introduced 17 and 15 Japanese stakeholders in each event, and brought them together with 48 Malaysia-based and 45 Thailand-based travel agencies.

?Incentive travel provides rewarding experiences that foster corporate employees’ motivation, enables them to learn from field trips and deepens their bonds as a team. It is key that the activities organized during these trip have exclusive contents that cannot be experienced in normal travels- and for service providers, to be able to tailor-made plans for all budgets.

??“We chose to have Wow Experience as the theme for this year’s seminar, and saw each exhibitor portray the exciting and exclusive offers they have developed for making overseas visitors’ trip unforgettable,” says Satoshi Toyoshima, in charge of coordinating the seminars. Many local convention bureaus introduced original activities they provide, from tradition-indulging workshops, such as sake-tasting workshops to teamwork activities around robots; private companies presented their finely architected modern Japanese banquet facilities, and entertainment opportunities such as a lights show featured with performing dolphins in an aquarium.

?JNTO Singapore’s MICE Director, Susan Ong points out the continuous success of the seminars: “As of the last couple of years, we have registered a significant increase in incentive travel from the markets where JNTO hosts these B-to-B events. Each incentive seminar is an excellent platform to showcase the attractiveness and potential of Japan as a destination for business events, as well as to provide business opportunities for Japanese incentive suppliers to connect with the major MICE players.”

?JNTO’s agenda for incentive-related events include:

Taiwan Incentive Seminar - August 7 and 8
Seoul MICE Seminar ? August 28
Beijing MICE Seminar ? August 28

Singapore MICE Seminar - October 16
