Today, you can still enjoy a traditional yakatabune (banquet boat) cruise down the same river, with views of modern Tokyo.

Located in Kyoto, Nijo Castle (Nijo-jo) was built in 1603, an important time in Japanese history. The castle that remains now is a World Heritage Site.
