JNTO’s New Branding Campaign makes it to IMEX Frankfurt

A complete make over

In line with the recently launched branding campaign that reinforces the tagline “New Ideas Start Here”, the traditional imagery of the Japan Stand was radically changed for this year’s edition of IMEX Frankfurt. “The eye-catching aesthetics of the stand, that incorporate elements of our new branding campaign, helped us attract many visitors” states Mr. Nakano, the stand coordinator. ”When starting fresh, we have to shake everything up. That is why we chose to apply this design—also showcased  on our newly redesigned website—to the stand décor, giveaways, promotional videos and even the lanyards that we wore for the show”.

A story of success

“During the show, our schedule was very busy, with many meaningful business exchanges,” says Mr. Nakano. “We invited an amezaiku artist from Japan to entertain visitors to our stand with the traditional style of Japanese candy crafting. She amazed not only hosted buyers, but even exhibitors, by creating candies in detailed shapes, such as animals, flowers, and even faces, in response to their requests. Her skill at creating modern characters using centuries old techniques inspired visitors with new ideas and they came to our stand asking for their own piece to take home!”

The Happy Hour took place on Wednesday, and allowed many participants of diverse categories to network over sushi and sake. “This year’s exhibit was a big success, and we want to heartily thank all the visitors who took interest in our destination”. 

Getting excited about mega events

In the international scene, Japan as a destination for events has been in the spotlight, and the world is eagerly awaiting the Rugby World Cup (2019), the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo (2020), and the recently confirmed G20 in Osaka (2019). This popularity has led many professionals to rediscover the appeal of our destination, and during IMEX we saw the great interest in organizers who look forward to host their events parallel to the ones mentioned above.

“In preparation for these big scale events, many hotels and events venues are upgrading their facilities. We were happy to share the recent press releases that cover all the new infrastructure that Japan has to welcome the world”.

As announced previously, the Japan Stand in IMEX Frankfurt 2018 consisted of a team of 22 organizations including DMCs, Hotels, PCOs and Convention Bureaus nationwide.
