On February 7th, JNTO held a MICE aimed at sharing best practices in the congress organizing field. The symposium, held in Shinagawa Prince Hotel, had over one hundred participants. Among the speakers were André Vietor, Managing Director of Barceló Congresos and Chair of the IAPCO Training Academy, and Ori Lahav, Vice President of Kenes Group. A press conference session followed, where JNTO released details on the current trends in Japan and the brand new promotional video.
On the same day, JNTO hosted a networking and welcome reception for members of the International Association of Professional Congress Organisers(IAPCO), who have gathered in Tokyo for the 49th Annual Meeting and General Assembly(February 7th-10th, 2018). Mr. Ryoichi Matsuyama, President of JNTO, together with Ms. Jan Tonkin, President of IAPCO, gave the opening speeches for the reception, in Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa. Attendees also included key professionals in the local industry, representing convention bureaus, venues and service suppliers nationwide.
We were honoured to host IAPCO during their 50th anniversary year, and wish them success for their next 50!
