Japan: Top Association Meeting Spot in Asia in the 2012 ICCA Rankings

In the ICCA's annual global survey of association meetings, Japan was once again confirmed as one of the world's top international destinations for association meetings, and the leading destination in the Asia-Pacific region. The survey showed that Japan hosted 341 qualifying meetings, placing it 8th globally. This jump back into the top 10 shows Japan's quick recovery from the setbacks caused by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami, which dropped Japan to 13th place in the 2011 ICCA survey.

Japan did not just rank high as a nation; its cities enjoyed a fantastic 2012 for association meetings as well. Tokyo and Kyoto were the top meeting destinations in Japan, but Fukuoka and Kobe also made it into the ICCA's top 100 global cities. In the Asia Pacific & Middle East region rankings, Japan had 12 cities in the top 100.
